Port of Liverpool
Port Information, Terminals and Facilities
(Liverpool, Merseyside, England, UK)
Both banks of the River Mersey are used by the Port of Liverpool, which is one of Britain's chief ports. A significant factor in the port's importance and popularity is its geographic position. It is the second richest freight vicinity in the United Kingdom and has excellent connections by road and rail.
The Passenger Ferry Terminals can be found on the Liverpool side of the River. The terminals offer limited but sufficient facilities like drinks and snacks vending machines.
The brand new construction of the £30 million ultra-modern Twelve Quays River Terminal at Birkenhead contains a cafeteria with lounge, check-in hall, covered check-in areas for both cars and trucks, and a separate rest area with shower facilities for truck drivers. Here, you will find excellent facilities for travellers with disabilities.
Drop off and pick-up points for buses and taxis are located outside the terminal. Both passengers and cargo travel across a multi-lane connected bridge to the floating stages, where two vessels can berth at the same time to provide fast and efficient boarding.
